Started by just four enthusiasts in 1968, the club was originally known as the “Pre 49 Car Club”, becoming the Devon Vintage Car Club at the 1970 A.G.M. The club now has approximately 200 members in Devon and the surrounding counties.
We aim to bring together those whose interest is the preservation, restoration and use of historic and classic vehicles of all types and ages. Our members have a great wealth of knowledge, skills and expertise in the care and maintenance of vehicles and are only too pleased to share that experience with any interested listener.
Membership of our club is not confined to owners of historic or classic vehicles but we actively encourage anyone who is interested in old transport generally. It is not necessary for you to own or be running an historic or classic vehicle to take part in most of our events. Your enthusiastic support of our aims is all that is needed.
A wide range of events are arranged throughout the year including club runs, breakfast meetings, visits to places of interest and, of course, not forgetting our famous autojumbles.
Each month members receive a copy of the club magazine, The Magnetozine. This includes a calendar of forthcoming club events, also a list of known events by neighbouring clubs and contacts for other event organisers. Contributions from members are also welcome.
